350 CO letter to Sen. Bennet (via his CO Dept. Chief of Staff)

Hi Sarah [Hughes], Thank you for taking the time to meet with groups yesterday regarding their strong opposition to the KXL pipeline. It was good of you. Since you said that Sen. Bennet is basing his pro-KXL stance on the EIS, I thought it imperative that you convey to him how faulty and conflicted that document is widely considered. 

Senator Bennet: If you’re not a climate change denier, don’t vote like one!

Winter came early this year. The elections were terrible, especially for Colorado, and with them came sudden snow and even more bad news: there would be a vote on the Keystone XL Pipeline on the Senate floor in only a matter of days. And our junior senator — a key swing vote for the country — Michael Bennet, was poised to vote in favor of the pipeline.

Micah Parkin, Executive Director of 350 Colorado acted as Moderator and contributed extended remarks setting the theme and rationale for the Forum.
