Frack of the State’ Rally Highlights Polis Failure to End Oil and Gas Wars

Despite the passage of SB19-181, Colorado communities are still plagued by new large-scale drilling projects, with Colorado climate and community organizations uniting to host a rally and press conference on January 17th in conjunction with Gov. Polis ‘State of the State’ address to demand executive action.

This month we are excited to celebrate Colorado Springs Team members Robert Popejoy & Michelle Popejoy! This father and daughter team have been strong advocates for climate action, having supported both local team efforts via the 350 Colorado Springs team as well as supporting the 350CO Renewable Energy Committee over the years and most recently participating in 350 Colorado’s Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion trainings and efforts in 2022.

As Polis gave his 2023 State of the State address, a coalition of community and environmental orgs gathered to call on state legislators and the Governor to ensure that Coloradans have healthy, safe, and livable air quality, water supplies, and climate conditions by opposing residential drilling permits and supporting a phase out of oil and gas permitting by 2030 or sooner.
