Colorado Youth Rally at State Capitol, JPMorgan Chase Bank for Global Climate Strike
COLORADO – A coalition of Colorado youth with the support of environmental and community organizations rallied at the Colorado State Capitol as part of the global youth climate strike movement, Fridays for Future on Friday, March 25th. The global movement, launched in 2018, has engaged over 140 million people in calling for climate justice and equity while keeping the global temperature rise below 1.5 degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial levels.
PERA has Over $8 Million Invested in Russian Oil and Gas Companies: 350 CO Calls for Immediate Divestment
COLORADO — New data from Stand.earth shows over $800 Million in US Pension Funds, including Colorado’s Public Employees Retirement Association, is invested in Russia’s war chest. PERA withdrew $7.2M from a Russian bank after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine despite having for years indicated that PERA will not make decisions on divestment unless told to do so by the Colorado General Assembly, according to their Statement on Divestment.
