As our May 2026 Climate Hero of the Month, 350 Colorado is proud to celebrate Ava Garrison, a 350 Colorado intern and graduating senior, whose commitment to climate action is inspiring!

Ava Garrison is a graduating senior at the Colorado School of Mines, where she will earn her B.S. in Biochemistry with a focus on the intersection of science, sustainability, and community health. This spring, she served as 350 Colorado’s Legislative Action Intern, contributing to countless legislative projects and actions, and was key to the success of 350 Colorado’s 11th annual Climate Lobby Day! Ava also helped develop our brand new Front Range Food Resilience Map and linked info sheet to support more equitable and sustainable food systems. Ava is incredibly passionate about translating science into meaningful policy and fostering a positive real-world impact. She will continue her studies at CU Boulder in the fall, pursuing a Masters Degree in Environment in Sustainable Food Systems. Looking ahead, Ava hopes to build a career in regenerative agriculture, ecosystem restoration, local food network viability, and aims to create a more resilient future in the face of climate change! Therefore, we are thrilled to name Ava as our 350 Colorado Climate Hero of the Month for May! We wish you luck in your future endeavors and applaud the work you put in to support our Legislative Action and Promoting Climate Solutions campaigns!
