350 Colorado Urges Bolder Climate Goals as New Climate Legislation is Introduced this Week
Fort Collins, CO – Yesterday, the long-anticipated bill to establish new climate goals for the State of Colorado was released by its cosponsors in the House and Senate. The Colorado Coalition for a Livable Climate (CCLC), a broad coalition of 26 member organizations of which 350 Colorado is a member, supports efforts to address the climate crisis and calls on the General Assembly to adopt bolder climate goals than those currently proposed in the bill in order to be more consistent with a 66% chance of limiting the global average temperature rise no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius – the maximum recommended in the October 2018 Report released by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to avoid the most dire climate impacts.
Report Finds Global Banks Poured $1.9 Trillion into Fossil Fuel Financing Since the Paris Agreement was Adopted
DENVER, March 20, 2019 — A report released today by Rainforest Action Network, BankTrack, Indigenous Environmental Network, Oil Change International, Sierra Club, and Honor the Earth, and endorsed by over 160 organizations around the world, reveals that 33 global banks have provided $1.9 trillion to fossil fuel companies since the adoption of the Paris climate accord at the end of 2015.

Fracking Permit Applications Pending for Rocky Flats, including Superfund Sites, Standley Lake, and Surrounding Areas
Denver, Colorado – On Friday, interested parties received a copy of an Application to the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC), by an English and Scottish Company, Highlands Natural Resources Corporation, to horizontally drill four sections of the former Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Plant, including the Superfund site where the plutonium triggers were manufactured.
