We’re excited to welcome some new faces to the 350 Colorado team! Please join us in welcoming Zoë Mattioli to our staff and Ted Wells, Ellie Andrews, and Maria Chansky to our Board of Directors. Each brings a wealth of experience, passion, and a deep commitment to building a more just and sustainable future in Colorado. We’re grateful to have them joining our movement and can’t wait to see all that we’ll accomplish together!
Welcome New Staff!
Zoë Mattioli, The Next Governor Project Coordinator
Zoë is a senior sustainability analyst, strategic communicator, and creative director who centers her work on climate finance, policy, and environmental justice. After a 10-year career in creative marketing and events, Zoë honed into climate-focused work. In 2023, she received her Master’s in Sustainability Management from American University in Washington, DC. Since then, she has worked on federal drinking water initiatives, DOT’s Reconnecting Communities Institute, environmental coalition building, and community engagement. Currently, Zoë is on the leadership board for Sunrise Movement Denver, overseeing volunteer coordination and chapter finances. Born and raised in the Southwest, Zoë dedicates her work to building a beautiful, vibrant, and resilient future for this region and for all those who make this one of the most special places on Earth. Outside of 350, you can find Zoë in a dance studio, on a dancefloor, or in the garden. zoe(at)350colorado.org
About the Next Governor Project:
350CO is seeking volunteers to attend 1 or more events near you for gubernatorial candidates Phil Weiser and Victor Marx to ask them questions about their climate strategy and educate them about important climate policy issues and opportunities. (Volunteers can also take action online, if you’re unable to participate in events.) Through this work, we are carrying forward the mission of The Next Governor Project to inform and influence the candidates for Colorado Governor to hold polluters accountable, support a fast, fair transition from fossil fuels to clean renewable energy, and to do our part to address the climate crisis. Fill out our interest form if you’d like to participate, and we will send you more information. 350CO will provide a stipend for transportation and a “Bravery Bonus” for question askers, upon request. Reach out to zoe(at)350colorado.org for support or more information.
Welcome New Board Members!
For decades, Ted has been a committed advocate for environmental and sustainability movements, working at the intersection of industry, policy, and community action. His leadership roles at United Airlines, Tompkins Industrial and
Automotive, and Trinchero Family Estates Winery reflect a career building corporate environmental departments and embedding sustainability and efficiency culture into core business operations. Building sustainability for our communities, Ted serves on the Boards of the AMB Foundation where he supports health, education, and economic empowerment of the indigenous peoples of the Americas; Colorado Renewable Energy Society (CRES) where he supports policy focused efforts to advance conservation and clean energy solutions; and 350 Colorado where
he supports building a fossil fuel free future and environmental justice. He is also the founder of ClimateUnified.org, a nonprofit platform created to bring people together to accelerate climate progress.
Ellie Andrews, Board of Directors
Ellie moved to Greeley from an old farmhouse in upstate New York in 2021. She is dedicated to advancing and applying the social science of climate action, through teaching and publishing on climate change, energy futures, and social change. Her most recent appointments were at the Colorado School of Mines and Colorado State University. She got involved with 350 Colorado because of its focus on building collective power to demand change: only together can we build the good things we need, stop the bad ones we don’t, and change our culture. Outside of work, Ellie loves exploring new places, growing food in her backyard, and watching her kids learn to love the world.
Maria Chansky, Board of Directors
Maria grew up in Massachusetts but has considered Colorado home for the past three decades. She is a family physician from the Western Slope and is particularly concerned about how climate change is impacting individual health and public health. She is halfway through a master’s degree in Climate Change and Planetary Health. Maria is particularly concerned with environmental justice, and the impacts of climate change on populations such as Native Americans, homeless individuals and marginalized/high-risk populations. She is also engaged in developing guidelines for communicating effectively about planetary health. She is passionate about community advocacy and education, as well as supporting legislation to improve the health of all Coloradans. Maria also serves on the Advisory Board of Healthy Air and Water Colorado, and co-chairs the “Creative Climate Communications” Working Group of the Planetary Health Alliance. When not working or advocating, Maria enjoys playing guitar and bongos, mountain biking, astrophotography, travel and science fiction. She lives with her husband, Russ, and two cats, Copper and Houdini (known for their disappearing acts!)
