Earth Day Live 2020

This year, millions celebrated the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. Normally that would have meant gathering together in cities across the country to demand climate action with a series of marches, rallies, art builds, actions, and trainings. This year, however, was anything but normal.

Instead of mass protests, from April 22 to 24, over 4 million youth and adult activists came together for Earth Day Live, a three-day live stream focused on climate action. The Livestream included training sessions, performances, and appearances to keep people engaged, informed, and inspired, with speakers including celebrities, politicians, scientists, and youth activists.

In Colorado, we hosted local livestreams each day. If you missed them, you can watch below to continue the Earth Week celebration, even as we are social distancing.

On the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, we demonstrated our collective power and unity through community building and storytelling. This first day focused on amplifying the voice of indigenous leaders and youth climate activists who are leading the movement to halt the climate crisis.
