350CO Staged ‘Climate Banker Zombie Crawl’ Leading up to Halloween, Spotlighting Connections between Climate Impacts & Fossil Fuel Financing

Denver – Since the Paris Climate Agreement, the world’s 60 biggest banks have financed fossil fuels to the tune of $4.6 trillion. Runaway funding for fossil fuel extraction and infrastructure fuels climate chaos and threatens the lives and livelihoods of millions. US banks are the top fossil fuel funders. That’s why 350CO took to the streets in Denver Saturday dressed as zombies to protest fossil fuel financing, calling on the Wall Street banks and the Federal Reserve to phase out fossil fuel funding by 2030.

CO Oil and Gas Conservation Commission Sets Hearing Date, Solicits Comments on Rulemaking Petition Submitted by 350CO & Allies

The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission is moving forward on a hearing for a rulemaking petition submitted on August 30 by six environmental groups, opening the matter up for public comment from individuals and groups. Comments will be accepted until December 2, in preparation for a December 14 hearing. The petition from the groups formally asked the Colorado Oil and Gas Commission (COGCC) to make new rules to protect Coloradans from the oil and gas industry’s contribution to ozone pollution, climate change, and toxic pollution in disproportionately impacted communities.
