The Niwot Environmental Club is a group of passionate youth that is dedicated to making a positive impact on the planet through Climate Activism. The Environmental Club engaged in a multitude of Climate Actions throughout the 2019-2020 school year. From protesting at the Global Climate Strike at the Capital, to revamping Niwot High School’s Waste Management System, to advocating for a ban on Fracking at Boulder County Commissioner Public Meetings, the Club was constantly engaged in meaningful action. Some of the members’ favorite moments with the club last year included attending the overnight YES (Youth Exploring Stewardship) Conference at the outdoor education center Cal-Wood, learning how to speak publicly to people in power, and connecting with other High Schools’ Environmental Clubs to share inspiration and plan joint projects. Overall, the Club connects students from different grades and backgrounds at Niwot High School in a community with a common goal: to make the world a better place.

The Niwot Environmental Club has donated many hours and funds to us and we have hosted quite a few as interns for 350 Colorado from the club. We are so grateful for their time giving public comments at Boulder County Commissioner meetings, COGCC and AQCC hearings, helping the organizing of massive Climate Strikes in the last year and giving rousing speeches at direct actions. The Niwot youth are an amazing group of young people making a difference for a sustainable future and a fossil-free world
